LI - Large Intestine Channel of hand Bright Yang

The Primary Large Intestine Channel of hand Bright Yang starts at the radial side of the tip of the index finger (LI-1 Shangyang) and proceeds upward between the first and second metacarpal bones of the hand (LI-4 Hegu). It then passes between the tendons of the extensor pollicis longus and brevis at the wrist, and continues along the radial side of the forearm to the lateral side of the elbow. From here it ascends along the lateral side of the upper arm to the shoulder point (LI-15 Jianyu), then crosses behind the shoulder following the anterior border of the acromion, and connects with Du-14 (Dazhui). It then directly enters the supraclavicular fossa and connects with the Lung before descending across the diaphragm to the Large Intestine. A branch separates from the main pathway at the supraclavicular fossa and moves upward to the neck, passes through the cheek, and enters the lower gum. Then it curves around the upper lip and intersects the same Channel coming from the opposite side of the body at the philtrum (Du-26). The branch finally terminates at the opposite side of the nose (LI-20 Yingxiang). Another branch descends down to St-37 (Shangjuxu), which is the Lower He-Sea point of the Large Intestine Channel. *The Large Intestine Channel has 20 points. LI-1, LI-2, LI-3, LI-4, LI-5, LI-6, LI-7, LI-8, LI-9, LI-10, LI-11, LI-12, LI-13, LI-14, LI-15, LI-16, LI-17, LI-18, LI-19, LI-20. *Crossing points. SI-12, Du-14, St-4, Du-26.
